Established in 2011, we have grown rapidly to be a producer of leading edge arts and engagement projects and are now the leading creative industry training provider in the West of England.
We have delivered projects to over 3,000 children and young people and have raised investment of more than £600,000 from funders including Arts Council England, Children in Need, Quartet Community Foundation, Youth Music, and the Creative Employment Programme.
We pride ourselves on developing new models of cultural engagement for children and young people. We are at the forefront of raising the quality of work with, for and by children and young people and were invited by Arts Council England to be one of the first organisations testing their new quality principles Quality Principles.
We are an incubator of ideas that empower young people to develop their own creative industry practice.
In Weston Super Mare we have set up a Creative Space run for and by young people and we have been supported in this by an ACE Bridge Challenge Award. In 2015 we were the largest single employer of creative apprentices and interns in the South West and our model of empowering young people has produced young people's led business units developing arts enterprise and for BANES Arts Development team.
We are a leading producer of spoken word projects and are currently producing Borderlines; a young peoples exploration in words of migration and borders, across 8 EU countries
As a respected provider of public sector contracts and are the go to company in the West for organisations wanting innovative solutions to training and empowering young people. We run Bristol Works for Bristol City Council, building a unique collaboration between employers, learning providers and the community to create a local skilled work force. We are a partner in the government’s Digital Skills Innovation project, diversifying the workforce in digital and tech jobs.
Our education and training company has grown from 15 students in 2014 to 253 today. By September 2019 we will have more than 350 students across seven centres with 25 full and part time teaching staff, offering full time diplomas in Creative Media, Film and TV Production, Professional Acting and Dance.
With high quality industry practice at the heart of everything we do, we offer our students access to creative workplaces that will inspire them and drive them forward. For this reason, we offer media courses at exciting venues such Engine Shed Digital and High Tech Hub, Bottle Yard Film and TV Studios and Ashton Gate with Bristol City Football Club, an. Our unique Professional Acting diploma has been developed with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Pegasus Theatre in Oxford. As a result of this, our students develop their learning in dynamic working environments.
