WE ARE BOOMSATSUMA.

OUR STORY

boomsatsuma is one of the country’s most respected companies working with young people. Our overarching mission is simply  to fuel the next creative generation.

Established in 2011, we have grown rapidly to be a producer of leading edge arts and engagement projects and the leading creative industry training provider in the West of England.

We have delivered projects to over 3,000 children and young people and have raised investment of more than £600,000 from funders including Arts Council England, Children in Need, Quartet Community Foundation, Youth Music, and the Creative Employment Programme.

We pride ourselves on developing new models of cultural engagement for children and young people. We are at the forefront of raising the quality of work with, for and by children and young people and were invited by Arts Council England to be one of the first organisations testing their new quality principles Quality Principles.

We are an incubator of ideas that empower young people to develop their own creative industry practice.

In Weston Super Mare we have set up a Creative Space run for and by young people and we have been supported in this by an ACE Bridge Challenge Award. In 2015 we were the largest single employer of creative apprentices and interns in the South West and our model of empowering young people has produced young people's led business units developing arts enterprise and for BANES Arts Development team.

We are  a leading producer of spoken word projects and are currently producing Borderlines; a young peoples exploration in words of migration and borders, across 8 EU countries

As a respected provider of public sector contracts and are the go to company in the West for organisations wanting innovative solutions to training and empowering young people.

We run Bristol Works for Bristol City Council, building a unique collaboration between employers, learning providers and the community to create a local skilled work force.

We are a partner in the government’s Digital Skills Innovation project, diversifying the workforce in digital and tech jobs.
