WE ARE FUELLING THE NEXT CREATIVE GENERATION.
HOW TO APPLY
Learners will need to be 16 on the 1st September 2018. You will need English and Maths grades A* to C. However students that can demonstrate attributes required by the Agency and who don’t have GCSE English or Maths at Grade C (Level 4) or above, will be supported to achieve those qualifications alongside the course. Though experience of creative and media subjects are advantageous, we are more interested in energy and commitment, and welcome your application even if you have had little or no experience. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in the way we recruit.
Go to boomsatsuma.education/apply and complete the short online application form. The team will review the information you provide and successful applicants will be invited to an interview.
There are no course fees for UK students under the age of 19, but there is a studio enrichment fee of £120 per annum. Students will be eligible to apply for a discretionary bursary to cover this and to assist with travel costs.
With more than 20 permanent tenant companies, studio spaces of up to 18,000 square feet, the largest green screen in the country outside London and complete production villages, The Bottle Yard Studios is the largest TV and Film facility in the West of England. It’s been home to a wide range of critically acclaimed productions including Poldark, Broadchurch, Sherlock, Trollied, Wolfhall, The Crystal Maze and many more, with the studios generating more than £18 million annually in Bristol.
Building a unique experience for young people in collaboration with The Bottle Yard Studios, an organisation with a strong history of supporting young artistic talent, is a fantastic way to offer unprecedented opportunities to get close to the action, rub shoulders with industry professionals and partake in projects often reserved for individuals much older than 16-19 years olds. The course will consist of a myriad of real-world creative projects designed to take advantage of this exciting location including filmmaking, TV production, photography, events management, animation graphic design, production design, sound design and more. Alongside these curriculum-facing projects, unique extra opportunities that young people can earn are set to arise from the placement of the new programme, including work placements, behind the scenes tours and insights, use of facilities, runner positions and many more. Projects of this style, opportunities of this magnitude and these levels of support are unique to boomsatsuma’s programmes.
