FOUR NEW DIPLOMA COURSES ACROSS ACTING, MEDIA PRODUCTION AND GAMES, VR & VFX

THE NORTH SOMERSET CREATIVE CAMPUS

ABOUT THE CAMPUS

boomsatsuma and Nailsea School are excited to announce the new North Somerset Creative Campus. At a time when post sixteen options for creative subjects are disappearing, the Creative Campus will offer boomsatsuma’s prestigious Games, VR and VFX, Media Production and Acting courses all in Diploma form (one and half A levels) as well as the full time Extended Diploma in Media Production with the Curzon Cinema.

Students will be able to combine two of the Diploma courses or take 2 A levels alongside one of the Diploma courses to create a full time programme. Games and Media Production will be part taught at Nailsea and part at boomsatsuma’s industry hubs at Engine Shed and Bottle Yard Film and TV studios respectively and Acting will share key workshops and masterclasses with the Extended Diploma course in Bristol. All courses bring boomsatsuma’s renowned professional approach, specialist staff and industry connections.

PLEASE NOTE
As opposed to our full-time programmes, applications for boomsatsuma's part-time courses at Nailsea Sixth Form are directly via the school itself. When applying to study at The North Somerset Creative Campus, please do so here.

HOW TO APPLY

Entry requirements

You’ll need to be on track to get at least five GCSEs grades 9-4 or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma (at merit or distinction). In exceptional cases we can take students who don’t have GCSE English or Maths at grade C or above and we can provide tuition in those qualifications alongside the course. Though experience of digital media and/or performing arts are advantageous in giving you a sense of what’s involved, we are more interested in raw talent and welcome your application even if you have had little or no experience. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in the way we recruit.

Application Process

From the 22nd November to the 10th December, students should apply using the link on the 6th form page of the school website. To visit this please click here.

After this, applications should be made via email direct to the Head of Sixth Form, Mr John Reddiford: jreddiford@nailseaschool.com

Course Costs

16-18 Year olds: If you are aged between 16 and 18 when you start, our Diploma courses are free except for a one off  studio fee of £125 that pays for a student hard drive, hardrive case and a boomsatsuma T-shirt. The acting course does not have a studio fee. There may be some additional costs for trips and recommended text books.
